PUNCHESTOWN proved its popularity once again among members of the Irish Pony Club who descended on the venue in large numbers last Sunday when the Kildare Branch staged the latest leg of the Connolly’s Red Mills one-day event series.

The host club won both well-filled sections of the Intermediate division but in the eight-runner Open, where only one combination managed to record a clear show jumping round, it was the Carlow Branch which came out on top thanks to the efforts of Jude Donohue and Poynstown Cubby.
