BARNADOWN has always proved to be a happy hunting ground for Jack Ryan and it was certainly that last Sunday as he emerged as the 2019 winner of the seven and eight-year-old Irish Championship for the second year in-a-row, taking home the lions share of the €8,500 prize money on offer.

Riding Filouandra, the 17-year-old was fastest of seven double clears in 35.57 seconds. Owned by David Cullen and bred by Gestut Lewitz, the seven-year-old mare is by Filou de Muze out of the Andiamo Z-sired Annabury Z.
