MIKEY Pender once again confirmed his status as one of Ireland’s most talented young riders when winning the George Mullins Transport-sponsored 1.40m Grand Prix at the Irish Breeders’ Classic in Barnadown last Sunday.

Some 63 starters lined out over the Alan Wade-designed track and just six of those made it through to the jump-off. Two combinations, Pender and Eddie Moloney riding Caroline Teltsch’s gelding Andiamix Hero Z managed a double clear round.
