DONAGH Meyler is one of a number of jockeys currently struggling with Irish racing on hold. What was once a busy schedule now resembles a blank page, and as a freelance rider, he has found himself in the unfortunate position of having no regular work since racing was suspended in Ireland.

“Prior to the Covid-19 outbreak, I was very busy riding out everyday,” Meyler said. “As I’m freelancing now, I wasn’t tied down, so I spread myself around the likes of Noel Meade, Henry de Bromhead, Shane Crawley, Arthur Moore, Karl Thornton and Ray Cody.”
