WEXFORD’s Bertram Allen won the opening five-star class at the Dutch Masters in ‘s Hertogenbosch, where Sweden’s Henrik von Eckermann became the latest Rolex Grand Slam contender when winning Sunday’s 1.60m Rolex Grand Prix.

Allen’s win came in the opening 1.40m two-phase class aboard the nine-year-old mare Fairytale 86 on their first outing together since 2017. Normally ridden by his younger brother Harry, Fairytale 86 produced the fastest clear in the second round to break the beam in 29.84 seconds and win €1,250.
