Kronenberg Grand Prix

TIPPERARY native Denis Lynch won the two-star 1.45m Grand Prix in Kronenberg, The Netherlands, last Saturday. Lynch guided the talented 10-year-old stallion Cornets Iberio to victory when the fastest of five clear rounds in the jump-off, breaking the beam in 33.15 seconds to earn €6,375.

He beat Germany’s Sophie Hinners and Million Dollar into second place, while Christian Ahlmann finished third with Nachito v/d Ketse.

Spanish win for Howley

IN Vejer de la Frontera, Richard Howley won the two-star 1.45m with a horse on whom he was for just the second time in the ring. Elizabeth Jackson’s 11-year-old mare Highcross Violet is normally ridden by Britain’s Robert Murphy but Howley took over the ride here and showed his class to beat four other double clears in a time of 37.73 seconds.

USA’s Paris Sellon was runner-up with Anna Jo ahead of Switzerland’s Matias Larocca in third.
