MIKEY Pender landed three victories at the three-star show in Vilamoura, Portugal, last week. The first came in Friday’s 1.40m aboard the ISH gelding HHS Toronto (Cavalier Royale x Don Juan de la Bouverie), bred by Miguel Bravo. The pair were the fastest of 14 clear rounds in a time of 59.71 seconds ahead of Belgium’s Gregory Wathelet and Crleyle. Max O’Reilly Hyland slotted into fifth place with Babar de Busyy (0/ 66.36).

Pender then raced to victory in the 1.50m jump-off class aboard Studfarm Overis and Bravo Hughes’ Casanova van Overis Z. Nine combinations progressed to the jump-off, where Pender’s time of 33.96 seconds earned him €6,250. Britain’s Holly Smith was the runner-up with Denver (0/0 34.05).
