KILKENNY show jumper Ivan Dalton enjoyed an excellent show at the x-bionic sphere in Samorin, Slovakia last weekend, winning two three-star class.

The first win for Dalton, who is based at Butler Court Stables in Belgium, came in Thursday’s 1.30m two-phase class when he guided the nine-year-old mare Damoiselle du Mesnil to the best of 19 double-clear rounds in a time of 31.25 seconds.

The pair then won Saturday’s 1.35m jump-off class with a great clear round against the clock in 40.54 seconds. They beat Britain’s Millie Allen and Odarco van d’Abelendreef into second place (0/0 41.72).

With the Irish Sport Horse gelding Lincourt Luidam, Dalton was third in Saturday’s 1.40m two-phase. The 10-year-old gelding by Luidam, who was bred by John McLaughlin and joined the Butler Court Stables’ team in May, was double clear in 36.95 seconds. Polish rider Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski took the win with Inturido (/0/ 35.41). After an international break of six months, Neal Fearon was back in the ring at the venue and he finished seventh with the 10-year-old gelding No Limit 67.
