VEJER de la Frontera in Spain plays host to top competition in Europe this week with the Nations Cup competition taking place yesterday. Monday saw the three-star Grand Prix go the way of Sweden’s Henrik Von Eckermann, while Irishman Conor Swail produced an impressive performance to finished fourth.

Some 60 combinations qualified and started in the 1.50m Grand Prix with eight of them making it through to the jump-off against the clock. Von Eckermann used all his experience to navigate the fastest round aboard the nine-year-old gelding Little Magic D’Asschaut, breaking the beam in 40.43 seconds to take the top prize of €13,550.
