WHILE the former Naas racecourse manager Tom Ryan is the kingpin when it comes to the Saudi Cup, he has called on a number of others with vast experience of Ireland to play important roles. Ryan is director of strategy and international racing at the Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia, and as such he is the man steering the ship.

During Ryan’s early career he crossed paths at Limerick racecourse with Angus Houston. Houston was in charge of the building and opening of Limerick in 2001, during his tenure as manager.
