RACING returned to Meydan on Thursday when the highlights were a pair of listed races. The centre of attention was on The Entisar, run over the same 10-furlong trip as the Dubai World Cup, while the Listed Garhoud Sprint was the other feature. Both races were won by the former UAE champion trainer Mussabeh Al Mheiri.

Purchased for 110,000gns by his owner Nasir Askar at this year’s Tattersalls July Sale, the Qatar Bloodstock-bred and raced Military Law upset the odds in The Entisar by three lengths in what was only his second start on dirt and in the UAE. Well beaten on his local debut over a mile at Meydan a fortnight ago, the four-year-old son of Dubawi was always travelling strongly under Antonio Fresu. Race fitness proved key as he powered past Group 1 winner Saltarin Dubai and Gronkowski, runner-up in this year’s Dubai World Cup, who finished third.
