VILAMOURA proved to be happy hunting ground for Kildare’s Mikey Pender and Meath’s Alexander Butler who both record wins last week.

Riding HHS Calais, Pender was best of the Irish in CSIYH1* - seven-year-old last Wednesday, when he claimed third place after delivering a clear in 40.34 seconds. Thursday was another good day for the Kildare rider as he took the win in the 1.35m CSI3* aboard the Mark Williams-owned Dome Van Overis, clear in 59.88.
