PAUL O’Shea was best of the Irish in the three-star $137,000 Four G Surfaces Grand Prix at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in Traverse City, Michigan, where victory went to USA veteran Margie Engle.

O’Shea was one of four riders to make it through to the jump-off in the 1.60m class. Riding Skara Glen’s Machu Picchu, owned by Frank Cunniffe and Machu Picchu Partners LLC, he was first to go against the clock and put in a quick round in 48.08 seconds but finished with four faults for eventual fourth place to earn $13,700.
