McMahon second in Oliva GP

MONAGHAN’s Clem McMahon finished second in the two-star Grand Prix in Oliva, Spain, last Sunday. Riding the 10-year-old Irish Sport Horse Pacifico, bred in Co Armagh by B & G Campbell, was among 15 clears in the first round to make it through to the jump-off. Nine combinations kept a clean sheet against the clock and McMahon’s time of 44.88 seconds was just beaten by The Netherlands’ Daan van Geel and Djam (0/0 43.45). McMahon earned €6,000 for his efforts. Jenny Rankin slotted into seventh place aboard the 11-year-old Bennys Legacy (0/0 48.11).
