LOUTH’s Mark McAuley was runner-up in Sunday’s big class at the four-star show in Mannheim, Germany, earlier this week. Denis Lynch was also in action, finishing second on Monday as well as winning a young horse class and finishing eighth in the four-star Grand Prix.

McAuley’s result came in the 1.55m jump-off class aboard the talented 10-year-old gelding Thunder G Z, owned by Scea La Tuiliere. The pair were among six clears against the clock and their time of 39.88 seconds was good enough to earn €12,000. Sweden’s Peder Fredricson won the class with Catch Me Not S in 36.47.
