Lynch runner-up in Gothenburg

DENIS Lynch finished second in Saturday’s 1.55m jump-off class at the five-star World Cup show in Gothenburg, Sweden. Riding Onyx Consulting Ltd’s GC Chopin’s Bushi, he was clear against the clock in 39.27 seconds. Victory went to Germany’s Daniel Deusser aboard Calisto Blue (0/0 38.52). Norway’s Geir Gulliksen landed his first ever World Cup victory at the venue. Riding VDL Groep Quatro, he was the best of two double clear rounds in 45.75 seconds and, despite taking a nastly tumble during the lap of honour, the 60-year-old was overjoyed to win.
