GALWAY’s David O’Brien scooped top honours on the final day of the Bluegrass Festival Horse Show at the Kentucky Horse Park last weekend when galloping to victory in the $40,000 Grand Prix.

Some 28 riders went to post over Ken Krome’s course and eight of those progressed to the jump-off with clear rounds, after the time allowed was adjusted to 87 seconds. O’Brien, aboard Spy Coast Farm LLC’s eight-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare La Belle SCF, was the first clear round of the day during the first round of competition as third into the arena.
