YOUNG rider Jack Ryan scored two victories at the two-star show in San Giovanni di Marignano, Italy. The first came in Friday’s 1.40m Table A, when he guided Brian Cassidy’s nine-year-old mare Guminka (Bernini x Lupicor) to the fastest of 12 clear rounds in 56.96 seconds.

Previously campaigned by the owner and Shane Breen, Ryan took over the ride on the mare at the beginning of the year when joining Breen’s yard in Hickstead and the pair have scored multiple victories. The pair were double clear in Sunday’s Grand Prix to finish in fifth place. Victory went to Italy’s Filippo Marco Bologni.
