GALWAY’s Andrew Bourns finished fourth in the three-star $137,000 CaptiveOne Advisors Grand Prix at the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival in Traverse City, USA, last Sunday. Bourns, who featured in last week’s paper, guided the talented nine-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding Sea Topblue (Chacco-Blue x Lux Z) to one of 12 clears in the first round of the 1.60m competition.

The pair produced a second clear against the clock in a time of 37.90 to slot into fourth place and earn $13,700. Owned by Deirdre Bourns, Sea Topblue was bred by James and John Meade and produced by Jenny Rankin until Bourns took over the ride last summer.
