IRELAND’s David Simpson finished second in the four-star Grand Prix in Vilamoura, Portugal, last Sunday, while Conor Swail won a class at the venue.

Victory for Swail came in Thursday’s 1.50m ranking class aboard the experienced 12-year-old mare GK Coco Chanel. From a massive start list of 108 competitors, Swail was the fastest of 22 double clear rounds in the two-phase class, breaking the beam in 37.16 seconds to earn the top prize of €8,446.
