Victory for Anthony Condon at Harthill CSI3*

WATERFORD’s Anthony Condon got the Irish off to a good start as he took the win in the CSI3* 1.45m at Harthill CSI3* last Thursday. Riding Creevquinn Pearl, he delivered the winning clear in 28.39 seconds.

Further down the line in fourth place was David Simpson with Guminka, who was also clear in a slower time of 29.44. Condon was back in the ribbons last Saturday, taking the runner-up place with Creevyquinn Pearl in the CSI3* 1.40 when he came home with nothing to add in a time of 33.50.

Galway’s Jessica Burke narrowly missed out on a win last Friday to Guy Williams in the the CSI3* 1.40m when she partnered the Lousia Church-owned Inpulss to a clear in 59.27.

Anthony Condon and Queen Mary also featured in this line-up, taking eighth place when clear in 65.04. Friday was a good day for Burke as she went on to claim sixth place in the 1.50m Grand Prix qualifier with Nikey HH, when she was slowest of the six double clears in 45.06.

Moloney placed at Tryon

KILKENNY’s Richie Moloney took fourth place in Thursday’s FEI $37,000 1.45m Welcome Stakes at Tryon International Equestrian Centre with Rocksy Music. One of 34 starters, he booked his place in the timed round with seven other combinations.

Moloney put in a very fast round, but with Rocksy Music having an unlucky four faults and crossing the line in 40.40, they had to settle for eventual fourth place.

Germany take the win

in Budapest

GERMANY emerged victorious in the Budapest Longines EEF Series Semi-Final. Following Deauville, the Longines EEF Nations Cup Budapest was the decisive event for assigning the last five spots available in the Warsaw LES Final, spots won by Germany, Switzerland, Austria, The Netherlands and Hungary.

Led by chef d’équipe David Will, Germany won with a total of eight faults – Marcel Marschall riding Coolio (4/8), Sven Schlüsselburg on Bud Spencer (0/0), Sophie Hinners (24) on Million Dollar (0/4) and Jörne Sprehe with Hot Easy (0/4) – repeating a win achieved just two days prior in the Aachen CHIO Nations Cup.
