CAPTAIN Brian Cournane led an Irish domination in the opening event at Bromont International in Canada last Thursday, when Irish riders took four of the first five places.

Riding his own and the Stiller family’s Armik, a nine-year-old gelding by Armitage, Cournane was the best of 16 in the jump-off to win €8,875. American rider Andrew Kocher slotted into the runner-up place, ahead of Mayo’s Cormac Hanley with Heathman Farm LLC’s Alma Z.
