PEELBERGEN in The Netherlands proved to be a happy hunting ground for Alexander Butler last weekend where he won two classes at the two-star show.

The first came in Thursday’s 1.40m two-phase class when, riding Gaston d’Ecaussinnes, he delivered a fastest of 30 double clear rounds in 25.40, in a huge class of 88 starters. The Meath native, who is now based at Milestone Farm in The Netherlands, was fractions ahead of Dutchman Niels Kersten who clocked 25.54 with Kyamant Van ‘ T Spieveld. It was a very competitive class, with the top six -finishers coming home within in 26 seconds.
