OFFALY’s Darragh Kenny opened the CHIP Aachen on a positive note taking the win in the Prize of Städte Region Aachen in memory of Landrat Hermann-Josef Pütz last Wednesday. Riding the stallion Volnay du Boisdeville, they went into the lead shortly before the end of the 1.50m two-phase, clocking 31.47. Volnay du Boisdeville belongs to one of Darragh Kenny’s pupils, Teddy Vlock (ISR). The stallion has already competed in Nations Cups and achieved placings in four-star Grand Prix with Vlock.

France’s Marc Dilasser had been in first place with the French-bred Chamann Has (Mylord Carthago*HN x Socrate de Chivre), but their time of 32.35 secs saw them take third, ahead of American Lillie Keenan with the Zangersheide stallion Agana van het Gerendal Z (by Aganix du Seigneur) clear in 32.86.
