While the racing world still awaits the outcome of talks between Horse Racing Ireland, the Turf Club and the Department of Agriculture on the streamlining proposals put forward in the Indecon Report, the sport horse sector will have lots of opportunities in the next few weeks to put its views forward in the presence of Minister Simon Coveney.

It is a very difficult task to bring opposing sides with different views in any argument together but a real attempt is being made to do so with the formation of the Irish Sport Horse Industry Strategy Committee. This is a cooperative move by Horse Sport Ireland, the Royal Dublin Society and Teagasc and their aim is to outline a strategy for the sector for the next decade.
