ACLAIM is a horse very much on an upward curve and he gained his first stakes win, and his fifth victory in all, when he defeated a strong field in the Group 2 Dubai 100 Challenge Stakes at Newmarket. He certainly has a stallion’s pedigree and should he continue to improve this is a real possibility for him. He can boast of having Montjeu, Again, Goldream and this year’s 2000 Guineas winner Galileo Gold up close in the pedigree.

Aclaim is a son of Rathbarry Stud’s Acclamation, sire also of Equiano, Dark Angel, Harbour Watch and Mehmas. The first runner for his dam Aris, he cost €130,000 as a yearling at the 2014 Goffs Orby Sale. He was bred by Dermot Farrington and Canning Downs and now races in the colours of the latter who presumably bought out his partner at the sale. That investment has been well rewarded to date and the colt is increasing in value daily.
