TIMMY Hyde’s Camas Park Stud has seen many top-class runners bred and raised there, and the latest to add his name to their most distinguished roll of honour is Capri, successful in a thrilling finish to the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby on Saturday. The son of Galileo is yet another winner of that race to have been graced with the ‘Hyde touch of magic’, joining Treasure Beach, Fame And Flory and Frozen Fire as others to have landed Ireland’s premier classic.

Timmy bred Capri in partnership with Paul Shanahan and the son of Galileo is the best of three winners to date for his Anabaa dam Dialafara. She was bred by the Aga Khan and won in France as a three-year-old when trained by Alain de Royer-Dupré. She was then sent to the December Sale at Arqana where Mags O’Toole signed for her at €175,000.
