A THREE-PARTS brother to Hurricane Fly is among the 540 lots in this year’s Goffs Land Rover Sale. The catalogue for the June 12th-13th sale was released online this week.

The Hurricane Fly relation is Lot 36, a Camelot three-year-old gelding out of Scandisk, consigned by Yellowford Farm. Frank Motherway told The Irish Field: “He’s a grand, big horse, 16.2hh, a much different physique to Hurricane Fly.

“Hopefully he will be well received at the sales.”

CLOSE RELATIONS

There are also close relations to this Cheltenham Gold Cup winners Native River and Lord Windermere in the catalogue, while among the 23 lots by champion sire Flemensfirth is a gelding out of a sister to eight-time Grade 1 winner Master Minded.

Other high profile winners whose families feature in the catalogue include Many Clouds, Black Hercules, Glens Melody, Balder Success, The Tullow Tank, Butlers Cabin and Road To Respect.

All horses offered for sale will be eligible for the €100,000 Goffs Land Rover Bumper.

Goffs CEO Henry Beeby said: “Altior’s win in the Grade 1 Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham was the highpoint of the year for Land Rover graduates in a season that also saw Grade 1 success for Samcro at Cheltenham and the Dublin Racing Festival, while one of the Land Rover greats of recent years, Faugheen, added another Grade 1 to his remarkable record in the Stayers Hurdle at Punchestown last week.”
