SOME weeks ago I wrote a feature published in The Irish Field on Stella Smith’s interesting hunting life. In the meantime, the Tara Harriers held a meet on her farm. All hunting protocols were followed, as one would expect, when the Tara Harriers came to hunt in the Fingal Harriers’ hunt country to celebrate Stella Smith’s 90th birthday. The farm is in a very scenic part of North County Dublin as it runs along by the Malahide estuary, bordered by three golf courses - Donabate, Balcarrick and the Island - most of which was the Smith’s original extensive farm.
