A WORLD of increased paperwork, logistical planning and blood-testing will result for the Irish equine sector under a ‘No Deal’ Brexit scenario.

Superintending Veterinary Inspector with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Catherine Lawler, started her presentation congratulating the three Irish equestrian teams qualified for Tokyo 2020, where isolation, blood-testing and certification requirements are expected. “However, we never envisaged this for animals coming from the UK to Ireland but blood testing and certification is very much the reality tonight,” said the Donegal native.
