MARIA and Electra Niarchos were notable attendees at the HRI Awards and, along with racing manager Alan Cooper, their journey was not wasted as they picked up the Horse of the Year Award on behalf of Alpha Centauri.

The four-time Group 1 winner was expertly trained by Jessica Harrington who also trained the 2017 Horse of the Year, Sizing John.
