IRELAND’s National Hound Show at Stradbally, Co Laois will see hounds of many types compete against each other on Sunday, July 5th next.

The show attracts hounds suited to their varied countries and the preferences of their handlers; indeed the latter is arguably more important than the former. A good hound is a good hound anywhere, but there is little point asking a huntsman to handle a pack he does not like.
