Charlie Appleby told Godolphin: “The 2000 Guineas has always been the long-term plan (for Quorto) and, following discussions with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, we have decided to put him away for the year. He has done exceptionally well in his first year, winning a Group 2 and Group 1, and he is progressing all the time.”

John Gosden’s colt, winner of the Group 2 Champagne Stakes, now looks to have a fine opportunity of making the same progression in the seven-furlong Group 1 on Saturday, October 13th.
