ONE vendor selling at this year’s Tattersalls Ireland September Sale will win a new two-stall horsebox.

The initiative was launched this week by the sales company in partnership with Overlander.

An Overlander R160 two-stall horsebox will be presented to the vendor of the horse who wins the Tattersalls Ireland €300,000 Super Auction Sales Stakes at the Curragh on Irish Champions Weekend, commencing in 2022.

Record trade at last year’s September Yearling Sale returned a top price of £325,000, a record number of yearlings sold for £150,000 or more and a clearance rate of 84%.

Following the heroics of sale graduate Champers Elysees last year, Helvic Dream is the latest Group 1 winner to have come from the September Yearling Sale, as did Group 2 winner Gustavus Weston.

Tattersalls Ireland CEO Simon Kerins said: “The Tattersalls Ireland €300,000 Super Auction Sales Stakes is the longest running sales race of its kind in Europe.

“The September Yearling Sale has made major advances in quality, turnover and market share in recent years’ and we aim to build on that this year by reducing the catalogue and improving the quality of yearlings on offer.

“Purchasers are reaping the rewards on the racetrack however we would not be able to offer top class yearlings without the support of our loyal vendors.

“Introducing a vendor prize of an Overlander two-stall horsebox is a unique incentive for yearling vendors to send their better stock to the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.”
