TESTS undertaken at the (Irish Equine Centre) IEC, including post-mortem examinations, bronchoalveolar lavage analyses and faecal egg counts, indicate an increase in the incidence of large Strongyles over the past number of months.

The exceptionally mild winter conditions over the 2015/2016 season probably contributed to an increase in the exposure to large strongyles. There would also appear to be an increase in the incidence of ascarid infestations.
