WE often see problems such as dry, brittle and cracked hooves during the summer. However, winter presents its own range of hoof problems. As we come to the end of winter, horses’ hooves may be suffering from the effects of a muddy few months.

Prolonged exposure to mud and wet conditions can make hooves softer and less able to hold nails effectively. Winter conditions can also make the horses more prone to issues such as hoof abscesses and white line infections.
