Water watch

A horse drinks, on average, 8-12 gallons of water per day. Horses will often reduce their water intake as temperatures fall and this, combined with a drier diet (i.e. less grass and more conserved forage), can lead to an increased risk of impaction colic, according to Laura Hoey, Equine Nutritionist at Connolly’s Red Mills.
