JOSEPH O’Brien has already recorded outstanding success and he doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. At a recent yard tour organised by the Agricultural Science Association (ASA) he credited his success with having some very talented horses in training and implanting a very simple routine.

O’Brien trains from Carriganóg in Piltown, Co Kilkenny. The famous yard and its hill gallop was once home to his grandfather and father. The yard is also a great source of employment in the locality, with 180 horses currently in training, O’Brien employs 112 people.
