A lot of how we look after and care for our horses comes from tradition, and in some cases there is little or no scientific evidence for why we do things the way we do. Festina Lente decided to change this. How they care for their horses is very much based on some of the most recent behavioural research.

For riding most of the horses go in bitless bridles. None of the horses wear hind shoes and only horses that need front shoes on advice of a farrier or veterinary surgeon wear front shoes.
