IN NOVEMBER of last year, champion jockey Ruby Walsh broke his leg in a fall from Let’s Dance at Punchestown. Commenting on Walsh’s injury, the Turf Club’s senior medical officer, Dr Adrian McGoldrick said: “For a tibia the standard recovery time is three months. It’s a clean fracture and no two fractures are the same. As of now, Cheltenham is likely and anything else is a bonus.”
A broken leg usually means that the injured person will spend a lot of time resting/hobbling around on crutches and asking friends and family to drive them around, but that doesn’t have to be the case.
