THE Midlands region meeting in Ballinagare, Co. Roscommon hosted by the Finnerty family is one of the best meetings of the year and last Sunday was no exception with a competitive 11-race card.

The Finnerty stable had a good day as they shared a double with Sam Ewing. Omega had been a prolific winner for them over many years and he is in excellent form again this year as he took the mile race in gutsy fashion from Call The Cops. They then went on to take division one of the 12-furlong race as they overcame a brave Silver Dollar.
