THE headline act at Leopardstown this Thursday will be in the Group 3 Invesco Pension Consultants Desmond Stakes where Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner Hit It A Bomb makes his seasonal debut for Aidan O’Brien. The high class colt is unbeaten in all three of his racecourse starts and is among the entries for the QIPCO Irish Champion Stakes on Longines Irish Champions Weekend.

He is joined by a quality field of eight runners and among them is the David O’Meara-trained Custom Cut, winner of the Group 2 Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown on Longines Irish Champions Weekend last year. British raider Custom Cut, a two-time winner at Leopardstown is also entered. Aidan O’Brien is responsible for three of the runners with course and distance Cougar Mountain in the line-up along with stable companion General Macarthur. Captain Joy, a winner at the All-Weather Championships back in March is also declared for Tracey Collins and the field is completed by Elleval, Dont Bother Me and three-year-old Tribal Beat who will also have his first run of the campaign for Jim Bolger.

The festival finale for Bulmers Live at Leopardstown reaches its climax with a concert after racing featuring hometown rock legends The Boomtown Rats.
