EARLIER this week, Roko George provided a significant milestone in my training career, when crediting me with my 500th domestic jumps winner. While I had technically already passed the half century, due to a winner in Jersey and 18 on the flat, it was pleasing to reach that figure under National Hunt rules in Britain.

Though never one to set specific targets or get too hung up on records, I fully appreciate the significance of the achievement. However, for me, it has always been more about training nice horses and attracting good owners.
