RACING is the only job I have ever had in life; all I know. Since first getting a summer job at Limerick Junction as a child, I have gradually worked my way up the ladder in my chosen field. I currently hold dual roles as track and facilities manager at both Tipperary and Cork racecourses.

The Junction always fascinated me as a child growing up – that big old galvanized fence running along the road. As a curious youngster I wondered what mysteries lay beyond its boundaries and why all those cars were parked along the road on race days. When I was 12 years old, I got the notion to discover what was on the other side, so I hopped on my bike and cycled down to the racecourse.
