MY first week as a professional jockey got off to the perfect start; riding my first ever winner on the track when successful aboard Auvergnat at Punchestown on Sunday. I only received my licence the Friday before the race, so it was fantastic to win on my first ride in the paid ranks.

I think my interest in horses came from my Dad, who would always watch the racing on television on Saturday. He took me to pony camp one weekend and I got further lessons at Hillcrest Riding School in Galbally.
