THE last few months have brought about changes that none of us have witnessed before. As someone who has been involved in racing all my life, I appreciate the difficulties of those employed throughout the industry. However, in my day job as a healthcare worker at Naas General Hospital, I have also seen the grim realities of the coronavirus at first hand.

Like many of my generation, my interest in horses derived from riding the family working horse bareback at home. We had a small farm which consisted mainly of cattle and tillage, although back then everyone had a horse as well.
