THE two-day Porrmarnock meeting on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th had several of those special moments that make all the effort worthwhile for spectators, commentators, stewards, the one journalist who attends but most important of all the horsemen, with much punching of the air and triumphant slapping of horse and co-trainers in evidence.

The celebrations are a bit subdued due to ‘social distancing’. For example, when Billy Roche won with Buliano there were only three people in the winner’s circle which is 47 less than Billy’s average.
