THE celebrations at the SJI Awards Ball continued into the early hours of Sunday morning for Paul and Caroline Byrne, after they collected the leading Premier league horse award for their own Hallowberry Cruz. In the often ‘one step forward and three back’ nature of the horse world, such accolades are a reward for persevering until the lucky break and the Wicklow couple acknowledge that keeping their homebred stallion until he reached international level was a struggle at times.
