JOHNNY Murtagh is eyeing a step up to Group 2 level for the promising Mise Le Meas who made short work of her opponents in the Irish EBF Auction Series Fillies Maiden which continued a good run for the trainer’s juvenile string.

In recent weeks the Murtagh two-year-olds have really found their form and this Syndicates Racing-owned daughter of New Bay had no trouble building on a pleasing debut third to Discoveries in a Curragh maiden on Irish Derby Weekend. Ben Coen sent the 9/4 shot to the front early in the straight and the pair were in total control from well over a furlong out, eventually finishing a length and three-quarters clear of Duvet Day who had previously finished a head second on her debut at Limerick.
