AFTER the successful resumption of German racing a fortnight ago, when the main focus was on trials for this year’s colts’ classics, it was the turn of the three-year-old fillies to take centre stage last weekend, with a listed race at Düsseldorf on Saturday and a Group 3 at Cologne on Sunday, both over a mile.

The trainer-jockey combination of Henk Grewe and Andrasch Starke had dominated the first weekend, winning all three group races, and the pair continued in the same vein at Düsseldorf, where Flamingo Girl ran out an easy winner of the Henkel-Stutenpreis.
